March Is Endometriosis Awareness Month: How Much Do You Know? Endometriosis is a disease in which uterine-like tissues grow out of place and become inflamed during a woman’s menstrual cycle even though the tissues are outside the uterus.
Each year in Australia around 1,720 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. In most cases the cancer will be diagnosed at an advanced stage, where it is very difficult to treat.
Only 31% of Australians know that ovarian cancer has the poorest survival rate of any female cancer in Australia.
For more information head to the Ovarian Cancer website.
Due to the current economic climate, along with many other GP practices, we are changing our scheduled fee rates. The changes will come into effect on the 1st January 2026.
Our billing policy remains the same, and is:
We are a private billing practice.
Children under 5 years old – bulk billed.
Children aged 5-11 years old (Inclusive) – discount billed.
Children aged 12 years and over – continue to be fully privately billed.
Further details can be found on our website HERE.
These changes will enable us to continue to deliver the high standard of medical care at Hamilton Medical Centre.

Accreditation is the process of implementing the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for general practices. The RACGP Standards provide a recognised national benchmark demonstrating the Practice’s commitment to quality and safety. Practices seek accreditation because they want to do their best and view this as another step towards excellence in patient care.
AGPAL recently reaccredited the Practice against the 5th edition of the RACGP standards, following an onsite assessment which takes place every three years.
The accrediation was extremely successful with the following commendations noted by the assessors:
This was a real team effort and the reaccreditation recognises the high quality healthcare provided to patients by the team, and the systems and processes that support that delivery.
The Practice uses HotDoc as it’s online booking platform. In order to book an appointment online, HotDoc requires you to confirm the booking by using a credit or debit card.
The card is not charged until after the appointment takes place, but in order for the booking to be held, HotDoc will preauthorise the expected consultation fee at the time of booking.
This does not take any money from the card, but is a check that the card is active and has sufficient funds to pay for the expected consultation fee. The preauthorised amount is held for 7 days from the date of booking.
