World Alzheimer’s Day is observed annually on September 21st. It’s part of World Alzheimer’s Month, a global effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The day encourages communities to organize events, memory walks, and fundraisers to support those living with dementia and their caregivers.
R U OK? Day is an annual national day of action in Australia, held on the second Thursday of September, that encourages Australians to connect with others and ask “Are you OK?”.
The day serves as a reminder to check in with people in your life who might be struggling and to offer support.
We are excited to announce that Dr Dominic Poliri has joined the Hamilton Medical Centre family.
Dr Dominic Poliri studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh. He then worked across a variety of hospitals and clinics in Scotland before settling on a career in general practice. He completed his specialist GP training in the UK, attaining MRCGP, before recently relocating to Australia.
Dr Dominic welcomes all aspects of general practice. He enjoys seeing patients at all stages of life and appreciates the privilege of building relationships over time to deliver holistic care.
